Things to
Do
| There are plenty of
things to do at LIMBERLOST LODGE. Our natural sand beach gradually recedes into crystal
clear Chub Lake. This along with our main dock and rafts provide an excellent setting for all
water activities. Pedal boats, paddle boards and the 'inflatables' (beach toys) provide hours
of enjoyment for the young and the young at heart. The beach is a great place to unwind and
get that much needed rest and relaxation. "Work" on that sun tan.
An outdoor fireplace on the beach is a popular place for a barbeque or an evening of conversation. you may be treated to a spectacular display of northern lights or a meteor shower. And you will be amazed at how many stars are visible in a sky that is not affected by city lights. |

At LIMBERLOST LODGE
children can be entertained on a playground with toys, playhouses,
a castle and a swing set. There is
also a badminton and horseshoe area.
But building sand castles on the beach seems to be one of
the favourite activities. |
||
| Take
a canoe and
explore Chub and Jobammageeshig Lakes. Or hike to Harten Lake
and quietly canoe this secluded
little lake where you may see a moose or other wildlife in
a natural setting. There is no extra
charge to use the canoes on these lakes.
The more adventurous may want
to take a canoe trip down the Mississagi River. There is a
charge for these trips, but you
will have a memorable experience on the river that 'Grey Owl'
wrote about in his book 'Tales
of an Empty Cabin'. |

|
Take a drive through the Mississagi Valley. The scenery is fantastic. The blue river surrounded by pine topped rock cliffs and hardwood hills. The contrasts make our fall colours special. | ||
| Visit the spectacular cliffs at Gros Cap on the Mississagi River. Take a boat ride up Tunnel Lake into the Mississagi River ( about 24 Km. (15 miles) from where we cache our boats). The cliffs are 150 metres (500 feet high) and quite impressive. You may be treated to the sight of a bald eagle soaring overhead. There is no marked trail but if you are adventurous you can ascend the hill from the south and come out at the top of the cliff. You will have a view that you will not forget. |
